URGENT - MISSING COSTUMES/ACCESSORIES

 

There are a few costume items missing that need to be returned to the hirers within the next few days.  Please contact Paula (07977 145777) as soon as possible to arrange for them to be returned if you have them, or pass on the message if you know who does. 

They are:

• Long pink sleeveless dress with black lace trim
• 1 red lace dress
• 2 Pharisees' gowns
•  1 pair toeless men's leather boots

• 2 ladies' head squares

• 2 white ladies' hats

• 1 blue ladies' hat

• 1 orange/net ladies' hat 

• 1 purple/net ladies' hat

• 2 men's straw hats

• Joseph's knitted hat

• 1 men's wide leather belt

Basic Costumes

 

Fabrics

            Plain or faintly Striped

            Natural fabrics like linen and cotton

            NOT Synthetics or shiny fabrics.

Shape

            Loose, unfitted shapes, 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

Women

            Long or mid-calf length for women’s skirts

            Layers of loose garments, unstructured dresses

            NOT Figure hugging, low cut or short skirts

            NO neat fitting T-shirts unless under another loose layer

            Avoid collars, embroidery or beading and other fussy details

 

 

 

 

 

Men

            Men to wear collarless shirts or simple tunics with casual linen or soft cotton

 

 

            trousers

            NOT neat edged, fitted T-shirts

            NOT trousers with Zips around the knees

            NOT trousers with lots of pockets, especially on legs

            NO front iron pleat

            NO collars

 

 

 

 

 

Note

            There are Draw String linen trousers at GAP and Jeff Bank outlet stores at

            Cheshire Oaks.

            Also very good linen trousers at the John Rocha Dept in Debenhams.

 

Everyone

            To provide a shawl (pashmina shaped) to compliment their outfit, gauzy cotton,

 

            linen, or silk, can be subtly striped.

 

 

Angels

            As basic costumes but on white / cream / pale grey

            Gold trim would be acceptable

            Gold head bands, to be made according to instruction.

 

 

 

 

 

 

Named Characters

 

General

           Please check what colour would be best, before buying your basic.

 

           The coloured drawing will be on display, however do check with Paula or Judith,

           if in any doubt (also note that the colour reproduction on the prints / scans – isn’t

           100% accurate)

 

            Disciples and New Testament women in particular, would look best with a specific basic.

  

Pharisees

            Basics in greys, pale green and stone colours.

 

 

 

 

 

Shepherds

            Basics to be quite dark, browns, dark greys and dark greens.

 

 

 

 

Herod’s Militia Men

             Khakis, olive green and greys

 

Herod’s Court

            Stronger colours, rusts, dark red and dusky blues.
