Dear Chester Mystery Plays 2008 Cast, Crew, and Production Team,

I’m working on a doctoral thesis on the Chester plays, and am deeply interested in modern community projects drawn from medieval material. The Medieval Academy of America has been kind enough to sponsor me in a research trip from Berkeley to Chester, to see your Chester Mystery Cycle this year. Everyone involved with your production is an expert witness as far as I’m concerned—while I’m in Chester this July, I would love to conduct interviews with anyone who is willing. The interview will last between 15 and 45 minutes, depending on how long you’re willing to stay. It will be very informal: I’ll bring the questions and the tape recorder, and all you have to bring is your experience. We’ll meet in a location of your choice.

You’ll receive gracious thanks in the acknowledgment pages of my thesis whether or not the interview information is used (and, if the thesis is turned into a book, those acknowledgments will remain).
