Liverpool Letter

July 14th 2008

Dear Cast Member,

Firstly I would like to congratulate every single one of you on the magnificent performance you are giving us; we who are front of house are very proud of you all!

The other purpose of this letter is to let you know where we are up to with our planning for the Liverpool production which I do hope you will all feel able to contribute to.

We shall be performing in Liverpool (Anglican) Cathedral on Friday 10th and Saturday 11th October with a dress rehearsal on Thursday 9th.  Obviously it will be impossible to take the whole production but Robin and Matt will be selecting highlights from the two parts which will be announced as soon as possible.  It will be a performed concert version which means that you will all be on stage for the whole performance, stepping into your characters as required.

Unfortunately, any costumes that we have hired or borrowed will have to be returned as soon as this production is over.  We will let you know which they are and where you should leave them before the end of this week.  Please take all your other costumes home with you – this will include any items you have provided yourself and those that were made or bought for your characters.  We would ask you to take good care of these until October.  If you would rather not take them home, please leave them in the rehearsal room and make sure that they are clearly marked with your name.

The rehearsals will be in the rehearsal room as follows:

Tuesday 30 September 7.00 – 9.30

Saturday 4 October 10.00 – 4.00

Sunday 5 October 12.00 – 5.00

Tuesday 7 October 7.00 – 9.30

Thursday 9 October 7.00 – 9.30 (in Liverpool)

Friday 10 October 7.30 – 10.00 performance

Saturday 11 October 7.30-10.00 performance

This will be the first time in the modern history of the Chester Mystery Plays that they will have been performed inside the nave of a church and outside Chester so it will be quite an historic occasion.

The promotional flyers for this event are now available and tickets are on sale in the shops of both Liverpool and Chester Cathedral.  Please spread the word around and try to encourage as many people as possible to come.   Tickets are all £13 with the usual concessions at £11; seats are unreserved other than the front two or three rows on the Saturday which hopefully will be occupied by those people who purchase Gold Tickets and attend a Reception beforehand at a cost of £30 per person.  This is a way of enhancing our income and many people enjoy this kind of occasion, particularly our sponsors who we are hoping will use it as a way of entertaining their clients.

If anyone has any questions regarding this letter, please contact me.  Ruth and Andrew have agreed to project manage the event but until the current production is over I will deal with any queries you might have.

Enjoy the rest of the run and thank you all again for your amazing stamina!!

Kindest Regards
